North African Hotel - Jasmine Hotel

Morocco is situated in the North of Africa.

Offering exclusive, scenic, coastal views to the Atlantic ocean and Mediterranean Sea; Morocco awaits to be discovered with its unique characteristic.

The majority of Morocco offers greats mountainous perspectives, as it lays 800 meters above Sea level. The High Atlas and Rif Mountains, separates eastern from Atlantic Morocco. Britannica. The High Atlas Mountain, is the largest mountain range in North Africa, spanning across Morocco for close to 1000km. The irregular peaks of the mountain maintain a boundary, between the cool Mediterranean weather and scorching Saharan climate on the South. Rif Mountain in the North of Morocco, harbors stunning views to Chefchaouen, the renowned blue and white cityscape. Lonely Planet.

Blue, a calm, serene, secure color. A colour that is likely prominent in our everyday environment being large blue blankets cover our skies (Not all the time when you live in London!). Think to how the colour makes you feel, as blue skies tend to give me a sense of reassurance, contentment and happiness, feeling I am capable of achieving anything.

Chefchaouen, the blue pearl of Morocco was founded in 1471 by Moulay El Alami, as a haven for the Moors migrating from Spain. The city became a blended community, welcoming Jewish and Christians over the years. It is suggested that, the blue buildings in Chefchaouen are a representation of God’s presence in Judaism; as a similar blue tone is intertwined into prayer shawls, to reinforce trust, hope and belief in God. Lonely Planet.

The design of the Dar Jasmine Hotel, could be described as a reflection of the city. The rich blue textured walls is a consistent theme across the social spaces in the hotel, perhaps mirroring the clear Moroccan skies. The palm printed upholstered chairs and plants, create the feeling of bringing the outside inside, enabling guests to feel present, immersed and actively experiencing Chefchaouen’s climate during their stay.

The Dar Jasmine hotel was schemed by Kai interiors, and solely tailor made by local Moroccan contractors; perhaps to reinforce the community cohesion Alami promoted when he established the city. The rustic finishes, traditional accessories and furniture in the space, enable guests to feel fully immersed in the Moroccan experience, and gain a sense of its heritage. Kai interiors design, allows guests to feel as though they are performing characters in a living mural based on Chefchaouen, a representation as a Totem for the city.
