The colours of the Mediterranean cuisines can be depicted as lively, colourful and warm. In a similar way to the the continent, as it embodies the importance of history, culture and unity.

Located in Pimilco London, Omar’s place features a tapas kitchen and a drink bar, with a relaxed atmosphere to match.

Sella’s concept design for Omars place, creates the feeling, of a being in a Modern mediterranean. Through layering the traditional architectural qualities of “natural, organic feel of wood, with plaster walls, Corten steel” with a timeless modern “organic colour scheme with beautiful terrazzo, brass, velvet and mirror finishes,"as described by Gayle Noonann who Co-manages Sella’s Concept. Dezeen, April 2018.

The peach and teal hues, are powerful colours used in an effortless way, immediately capturing the diners presence. In a similar way to the red and green ingredients, typically found in the Mediterranean dishes, as a focal point of their dishes.

Sella’s concept expressed how Omars place, is influenced by “The circular shape of the sun, becoming the core element of everything from the visual identity to the features and furniture of the restaurant – including the shape of the bar, the curved edges of the joinery, and the fluted banquette seating." Dezeen, April 2018.

The Terreal Canalaverou barrel tile, typically used for roofing in the Mediterranean, has been used in an exclusive way at Omars place for skirting. This subtle feature helps to further assimilate the feeling of being in the Mediterranean, while in the heart of London.
