Gucci Cosmos Exhibition

Gucci Clique, Gucci Clique, Gucci Clique!

I have patiently been waiting for the Gucci Cosmos exhibition: A Heritage Journey; to come to London, since I saw it first documented in Shangai, China. The whole experience was second to none and the immersive rooms starts from the concept to the execution Gucci.

The iconic lift used at the Savoy Hotel was where it all began, transporting me from the 1st floor to the lower ground floor. An excellent start to the exhibition, the lift featured mirrors and chaise lounges for seating, it was very luxury and exactly what I would expect.

Sustainable design did someone say! This was a key movement in Gucci’s designs in 1947 and has since been a unique feature that sets Gucci Bamboo 1947 apart.

The baggage carousel was a great feature, there were so many bags rotating on display at the same time. The intricacy and unique designs left me in awe as I was immersing all the pieces on display.

Gucci began working at the Savoy Hotel in 1897 as a porter, he saw the level of importance visitors placed on their suitcases and he dreamt of designing his own one day. Upon his return to Florence five years later, 1921 Gucci opened his first boutique Florence on Via della Vigna Nuova with a speciality on English-style luggage inspired from his time at the Savoy.

My favourite piece from Gucci is the timeless Horsebit 1955 bag with inspiration believed to be from the equestrian world, with the double ring and bar.

Artisan is the only word I could use to describe this fact, I captured an archived drawing below, which speaks for itself.

The tiffany blue fascinator was the moment, in this space centered perfectly in The Garden of Gucci, where the colourful pieces stood out in the monochromatic space.

Upon seeing the level of embroidery in the denim jacket, I was in complete awe and it was truly a show stopper piece that caught my attention.

My favourite bag in all it glory, this was of course my favourite room a walk in wardrobe filled with so many bags and mirrors it was a maze I did not mine getting losted in!

To mark the end of the Gucci Cosmos exhibition: A Heritage Journey an AI generated kiosk matches each person with a conversation card at random and I received ‘Beauty’.
